 This past year I have made it a point to capture a daily image and never know what will present itself. Something or someone will pique my interest. Now that we are over half way through 2016, what I am seeing as a theme, is that visual messages randomly appear. This unfolding fern caught my eye, marking the moment of beginnings; a lovely pause at the threshold before the journey. Have a beautiful day. “Life begets life. Energy creates energy. It is by spending oneself that one becomes rich.” Sarah Bernhardt  When I was a child I was not allowed nor encouraged to play with paints or any sort of materials that would create messes. On a subconscious level this impacted my freedom of expression and took many years to overcome. I seriously believed that I did not know how to paint or draw. Talk about pinching one’s spirit. It is clear to me now, how my interest in photography began. It was safe, controlling and there are no messes, well outside of the darkroom! Once I learned to let go and allow, everything in my life transformed, even my images took on their own feel. "Everbody needs beauty, just as well as bread, places to play in and pray in."
