Embrace the Beauty
This past year I have made it a point to capture a daily image and never know what will present itself. Something or someone will pique my interest. Now that we are over half way through 2016, what I am seeing as a theme, is that visual messages randomly appear. This unfolding fern caught my eye, marking the moment of beginnings; a lovely pause at the threshold before the journey.
Have a beautiful day. There is no better place to spend a hot afternoon but by a creek in the forest. Both body and mind were weary from the long hike and I found a perfect spot to lie down and rest. While listening to the echoed whispers from the slight breeze rusting through the trees, I drifted into a comfortable sleep. When I opened my eyes, the trees were reflected perfectly in the creek and the moment was forever captured. Aristotle said it best, “In all things of nature there is something of the marvelous.” The feelings of peaceful contentment and harmony remained for several days thereafter. When was the last time you took time to enjoy the beauty that Nature brings or better yet, took a nap in the forest?
The blooms have reached their end and as the petals have slowly fallen, I am treated to the sight of this lovely heart of a tulip. One feels the movement, an invitation to look closer, reminders that when we allow ourselves, we too can freely bloom and transform.
I have been on a path to something new for quite some time and I am not sure at what point I began to fixate and worry about the "cursed hows". Life's unexpected twists and turns have added an element of caution, trepidation that casts a shadow. All I know is that enough is enough! Interestingly, the Universe agrees as well, and suddenly messages appeared everywhere I looked. From books I picked up, emails I opened, songs on the radio, and even while walking in the neighborhood after the rains. Everything was fresh and clear, and the light upon the fallen leaves and sidewalk was magical. I grabbed my camera and captured the beauty of the moment. In the words of Wayne Dyer, "If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at Change." This simple, beautiful inspiration is the outcome. Enjoy! |
